Pangu Officially releases a jailbreak for iOS 9.1 64-bit devices!

After so long Pangu had finally released jailbreak for iOS 9. In the Pangu 9 version 1.3.0 it added support for iOS 9 64-bit devices! However people who already upgrade to iOS 9.2 or who are using devices under the iPhone 5S are out of luck… Sorry.

The process is the same for the other jailbreaks:

Pre-Jailbreak Preparation

  1. Disable both TouchID and passcode/password.
  2. Disable Find my iPhone temporally.
  3. Put your phone into Airplane Mode.
  4. Backup your device. Make sure you don’t do a encrypted backup or else the jailbreak will fail.

Jailbreaking Process

  1. Download and run the TaiG on an Windows system.
  2. Once the application recognizes your desired device and click “Start” to start the process.
  3. Wait until the prompt tell you to unlock your device and re-enable jailbreak mode. Once prompted re-enable Airplane Mode.
  4. Now wait for the prompt to open the Pangu app, once you open the app – Tap on Accept and Allow the Pangu app to access to your photos. (The Pangu team is a very trusted team, If you do not want to allow access to your photos then wait for another jailbreaking tool. It’s known that the access is only used to move files around.)
  5. Open you let the tool finish the process, the Cydia app should appear on your device.

Notes:

The WWDC app will appear on your device, DO NOT DELETE or OPEN the app. The app is used to inject the jailbreak onto your device.

The Pangu app will also appear on your, DO NOT DELETE or OPEN the app. This app is used for a Step 4 in the Jailbreaking Process.

Never unplug, use or mess with your device during the process. Do not worry about the “Storage is full message” either, it’s normal.

How to jailbreak iOS 9!

After months of wait.. The jailbreak for iOS 9 has just dropped! The Pangu team’s iOS 9 jailbreak is available for Windows. The jailbreak is compatible from iOS 9 to the latest version of iOS 9.0.2.

The jailbreaking process is very similar to previous jailbreak tools and there are small changes.. So, here is a step-by-step guide on how to jailbreak iOS 9..

Untethered Jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 on all devices!

A few days ago apple “pushed out” iOS 8.1.2 Over The Air (OTA) with bug fix, More info.

Usally when Apple send out an update it usually closes any loop holes or exploits but, It turns out that this time that is not the case. The iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak was out almost immediately after the release!

Requirements / Before We Start

  1. Your device {iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad} must be running the latest (As of now) firmware: iOS 8.1.2. (Check Below)
  2. You must disable passcode and Find my {iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad}. You can re-enable these later.
    • Signing out of iCloud will not work, You must sign-in to iCloud and than, Disable Find my {iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad}.
  3. You will also need a Windows 7 or up based computer for this update to work (As of now). For Mac users: You can run Windows on a virtual machine or Boot Camp.
  4. Must have the latest version of iTunes (Check Below)

Guide to Jailbreak

  1. (Recommended) – Back-up and then Restore your device {iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad} to a fresh version of iOS 8.1.2 . Don’t Restore from Backup just yet! You can do that after the jailbreak process is over.
  2. Plug-in you device {iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad} and open iTunes (If it doesn’t already).
    • After iTunes opens – Trust the computer on you device {iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad} and your computer.
  3. If you haven’t already remove passcode and Disable Find my {iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad}.
  4. After downloading the files mentioned above, Extract the ZIP files using the build-in zip extractor – To avoid problems.
  5. Run the “TaiGJBreak_EN_1201” EXE file and Un-check the “3K Assistant” Option. TaiG-1.2.0
  6. After you have carefully completed all the steps, Click jailbreak and don’t touch your device {iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad}, Don’t touch it even when the “Storage is almost full” alert comes up. Most important – Don’t unplug it.
    1. Your device {iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad} will reboot and you should then have Cydia!
  7. Last very important step: Open Cydia and let it finish updating it’s file system, If you close Cydia or reboot at this point than, You will have to restore your device {iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad} and do this all over again. Also, After that’s done update all the packages.

You are now done! You device {iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad} is now jailbroken! Have fun and Be Safe!

Step 1: Download Pangu 1.1 for Windows from our downloads page

Step 2: Plug your iOS 7.1.x device in to your computer’s USB port
Step 3: Open Pangu_v1.1.exe on your Windows machine. You may see a blue error box. If so, click more info and click Run Anyway (see video tutorial for more information). The Pangu app should open.
Step 4: Once your device is detected by the app, click the Start Jailbreak button
Step 5: Pangu will ask you to go to Settings > General > Date & Time and disable the Set Automatically toggle. You will then need to set the date to June 2, 2014
Step 6: Once the date is set, the jailbreak process will begin automatically. After a little while, Pangu will ask you to open the Pangu app icon on the Home screen of your iOS device. Tap the Pangu icon to launch the Pangu app and tap the Continue button
Step 7: The jailbreak will continue process. You will be asked to unlock your device after it reboots
Step 8: Once the jailbreak is completed, you should see Cydia on your Home screen
Congratulations. You now have an untethered jailbreak on iOS 7.1.x using your Mac. Pangu should automatically set your date setting in Settings > General > Date & Time back to Set Automatically
