FLASH BACK TO 2013…
In windows 8 Microsoft look out the traditional Windows start button and replaced it with the Metro UI. Well that didn’t go as planned… The Metro UI with it’s Windows Phone like live tiles was only comfortable to use on touch screen devices not on desktops.
In Windows 8.1 they brought back the “Start button” which was just a button that would take you to the Metro UI. They kind-of solved the problem here for desktops users by adding an option to boot directly to the desktop. Problem fixed tight? Nope! People still wanted the Start Menu back and so, third party developers came though and make “software” to bright that back but, most of them weren’t software they were Malware. No start menu OK we will live with it. As it turns out that some consumers like to use the “Desktop” mode of windows 8 but, also like to use windows apps. There was no built-in way to combine windows apps and desktop apps conveniently…
Back to 2014…
Microsoft fixed all of those problems with Windows 10… Don’t get too exited just yet because Windows 8 public version won’t be available until late 2015.
